Penn Alumni the world over are raising their glasses to celebrate the January birthday of Penn's beloved and mischievous founder, --- the man we all don't really know, but love...Benjamin Franklin.

So join the local celebration with the Penn Club of St Louis!

We did it!
We have a website that makes sense.

Here you can sign up to be a member, sign up for our mailing list...and we're even getting started giving all st. louis alums a home online where they can share info about themselves, and really reap the benefits that living in a city with all your fellow Penn Alumni nearby!

That's what we're trying to do as a club, and we can't wait to meet you.

We're just getting started with our site - looking forward to being your go-to resource to access the Penn community here in St. Louis. There's more of us than you think!

We're all really excited to get things going for the Quakers here in the Gateway city. Please don't hesitate to email us at the address below with any questions, comments or suggestions.

And this is just the beginning of it. Look out for a Young Alumni section, our own social network, as well as a place for Penn Parents to find one another.

Here are some goings on, past and present:

Glee Club comes to visit
Hurrah! The Glee Club is cameto St. Louis in May 2008 - they went to the city museum and were shocked to find out that there WERE NO RULES.
They also sang to us.

They performed near Wash U on Friday evening, May 23 at 7 p.m. at the church building at 305 S. Skinker on the corner of Fauquier, near Forsyth School and Washington University. We loved'em.

You know we will be documenting all the white tie, tails and harmonizing in photo form as soon as it happens. Check the photos section to see the evidence!

Penn-Princeton Game at Westport Plaza
Ah yes. The Penn-Princeton game. We all went out to Westport (who knew there were so few places that would cover this earth-shattering event by having the courtesy to subscribe to ESPN-U???) and watched. It was fun to rekindle our friendly "rivalry" at a time when it's just not as important as it was back in the day when we waited in line forEVER for tickets to basketball season at the Palladium.

Ben's Birthday Celebration!
He's our favorite father figure and the REAL star of Nicholas Cage's epic "National Treasure" films, so it is only fitting that we celebrate his posthumous birthday with style and panache. Check back soon for photographic evidence in the photos section of how we classed it up for that crazy guy who invented bifocals (and America, arguably).

Family Picnic
Who's bringing the water ice? Tastycakes? Yuengling? Pictures should be posted soon after picnic takes place this coming June 2008 in Shaw Park in County Capitol -- Clayton!

Student Send-Off
A time to reflect on how terrified you were before you went to Penn, and to take pride all the strong new acceptees who are masking that terror so well and so eloquently. Eat cookies, share stories, meet local St. Louis Penn people - it's an entertaining combo that's hard for anyone to resist. Coming this spring/summer 2008.

The Penn Club of St Louis was founded in 2005 to provide a social network for Penn alumni living in the St. Louis area, and to increase awareness of the University of Pennsylvania.
Typical annual social events include hosting a guest speaker from Penn, meeting to watch a sporting event, and a family event...and we're gearing up to add a wider spectrum of eclectic happenings to that!

Events supporting Penn include speaking at area high schools and recruiting events, interviewing applicants, hosting a welcome reception for entering freshmen and their parents.
